I grew up just outside of New York City almost 60 years ago.My young life was spent in trees and boats . When I got older I spent a lot of time in the basement lab building rockets ,boats and electronic devices.
I got into a special program in high school called Instrumentation and Automation. They taught computer programming , electronics, physics and control systems. As I got older I studied physics and ecology at the State University of New York but abandoned all to study forest ecology in Northern California. My father recommended psychological help for me.
I bought land in Briceland where I still live.

I spent years studying nature, building a homestead and other projects.
I studied forestry, felled trees for the Beginnings school building , starting fire companies throughout the region , helped write bills, creating parks ,writing scientific papers and even had a stint running Beginnings.
I did some work on international community development (south and central America),
fought against the spraying of the herbicide 2,4,5 T . The spray wars lead to the creation of EPIC and resulted in the banning of 2,4,5 T .
I spent years helping fund raising for Redwoods Rural Health Center , Vietnam Veterans
Beginnings and CLMP.
I got married, raised 2 boys and a step daughter at which point I got separated and went into teaching. I taught at my own school ,Redway, Miranda J.H. , Mattole Vally Charter School, and several other outlying schools as a guest.
Over the last two years I have been continuing my work with United Stand and on the General Plan Update fighting for the rights of rural home builders(and rewriting the Ca. graywater laws).
Yesterday I was working with people in Shady Valley Tn. They had a company come in and fumigate fields with a chemical (gas) that poisioned many people (some with chemical burns),killed fish and left a toxic cloud.
Most of these things I did not do by myself . I worked with a lot of other good people ...my friends and neighbors all over the globe.
