Kelly Coyle is teaching art to the upper grades this year. She began her own academic journey at Salmon Creek Community School as a wee tyke, and is happy to now be sending her own children there. She was raised in the Southern Humboldt community, attending SCCS, Agnes J. Johnson Elementary, Miranda Junior High, and South Fork, and completed her undergraduate lessons at The Evergreen State College in Washington State with a bachelor's degree. Eventually, she returned to Humboldt County to enjoy the (mostly) warm California sunshine and explore art in its many styles. Now, with two children of her own, she is back at SCCS, offering a class where kids get to experiment with many ideas, methods and mediums in the great big world of art.
