Hello Everybody,
I hope you all had a good summer. It's over now, bwaaahahahaha...
Anyway. We will be returning to school on monday, at 8:30AM. There will be a new schedule, new expectations and new assignments. Fortunately we have an entire week to adjust before we really jump in. Here is a rough idea of how that week will go.
On Monday we will continue with the whole school meetings. This is important, as it reinforces the idea that we are, in fact, one school. Monday morning will be spent getting going over some of the things that will change, and what this year will mean for each of you. On Tuesday we will revert to the normal schedule, which will alternate between Kym and myself. Monday we will have Gail coming in for late morning and early afternoon. She will be here Mondays and Wednesdays to teach history. For the rest of the week we will have normal classes, but they will mostly be spent discussing the format of homework and class time, rather than on academic material. Math will start on the second day of school. Math homework will be due shortly afterwards.
Thursday, after the morning schedule with Kym we will head down the hill to Three Falls, for the remainder of the day. Everyone is invited, parents, relatives, friends, we will be leaving the school around eleven and spending the day down there swimming and such. Assignments will begin in ernest the following Monday, so you should be organized, and ready to deal with what is going to be a fairly busy year.
The homework should be posted on the blog as usual. www.salmoncreekcommunityschool.blogspot.com
There will also be a missing work page updated frequently.

Homework policy will be much the same as last year, but perhaps more rigorously enforced. Homework is due on the morning of the due-date. If it is not turned in, it will be done during recess, and lunch until it is finished. Math homework that receives a 79 percent or lower will need to be corrected on Tuesday after school.
For both grades there will be a slightly different format for the math homework. This format needs to be followed, or your homework will need to be redone. This will be explained in class.
All assignments this year will be graded. These grades will add up to your grade in the class.
As far as materials go here is what you should have. You need your binder from last year. Everything else will be provided.
